Terms & Conditions

  1. The prices listed are for one days hire which covers 3 days (eg delivery, your event, collection). Longer hire periods can be quoted for.
  2. All items remain the property of the Jolly Vintage Tea Party at all times.
  3. We will deliver and collect orders over £150 free of charge within 10 miles of Wheatley, we are happy to deliver elsewhere, including central London, and will quote on request.
  4. The minimum order value for delivery is £50.00 plus the delivery charge based on mileage. Minimum order value for London is £200 plus delivery and any road charges.
  5. To secure your order we require a deposit which will be given on your quote. The balance of the invoice is due on, or before, delivery.
  6. Cancellation charges of 25% within 30 days or 100% with 14 days of the hire date will apply. Cancellation must be made by letter or email and any outstanding payment settled.
  7. Please check your order carefully on delivery and sign the delivery note to confirm that all is in order. We cannot accept any faults or discrepancies notified after items have been signed for.
  8. Due to the nature of vintage items, there may be signs of wear, such as to gilt, but there will be no chips or cracks to the china.
  9. All items hired from the Jolly Vintage Tea Party remain the responsibility of the hirer, including if left at other premises, until return or collection. This includes loss or breakages.
  10. A damage deposit of £100 is required by separate cheque, on delivery of the items, and will be returned when all items have been returned and checked. In the event of items of china being broken these must be returned to Jolly Vintage wrapped in paper, glass items should be carefully disposed of. Each small item will be charged at £8 (cup and saucer count as 2 items). Dinner plates, sugar bowls and milk jugs at £10 each and three tiered cake stands £25, teapots £30 (Royal Albert 2 ½ pint £55) if spouts are chipped this is classed as broken as it can’t be used again, vintage cutlery £3 and glass bowls £8 per item. Missing china items (which have not been returned broken) will be charged at £10 per item and £45 to £55 depending on size – this is because the value of some items is higher than others and unfortunately, in the past, we have had high value items not returned.
  11. Jolly Vintage will accept no responsibility in the event of any injury or damages caused by the hire equipment.
  12. The hire cost includes returning the items dirty for us to wash but please scrape plates, empty sugar bowls and teapots before re-packing or a cleaning surcharge may apply.
